Summer is Here!
…And if you’re anything like me- you feel EVERY EMOTION there is about summer! Excited, nervous, happy, overwhelmed, peaceful, stressed… I’m feeling every different emotion about summer being here and the kids being home.
I knew I’d feel a lot better once I was able to pencil out some of my thoughts, ideas, and expectations for my kids. I made a printable for myself and decided to share. It has my own personal goals as well as requirements I have for my kids before they can have screen time. I’m using this as a way to help my kids see what I need from them, as well as all of the fun things I hope to do with them! My personal goals and focal points of the summer are in writing next to my front door so I can have a little reminder/accountability 🙂
As a parent it can be so overwhelming to meet everyone’s needs, including my own. I need to get my own stuff done! I want to have fun and enjoy my kids as well. Taking care of my needs also means having some personal time. And then what about the spouse? I’m hoping that writing some goals down for the summer will help me to stay focused instead of letting the summer just “happen” to me.
Below is a screenshot of what my printable looks like filled in. If you’d like to download you’re own, you can find it here. The downloadable page doesn’t have a huge picture of Ollie on the top 🙂
There is a part in there that says “Summer Hacks”… This is for when I feel like I’m losing my mind and need a reset. It’s a few different ideas on things everyone can do- or I can do… The one called “5 minute Hurricane” is what my kids and I do when we set a timer for 5 minutes and literally RUN around the house, cleaning as fast as we can ONLY for 5 minutes… It always helps tremendously to ease stress (clean houses feel peaceful) as well as make us be silly and not so serious(ly grumpy?). 🙂
I hope this helps you ease into summer with your kiddos! I wish you many sunny days 🙂
Often times I give away printable’s in exchange for subscribing to my email list. This one’s just for free- no strings attached 🙂 Enjoy and please share! Just give me a little credit if you do, ok? Happy Summer!
